The total cost of doing 2 years full time MBA from top B-Schools varies from $2,30,000 – 1,90,000 which is a huge amount to pay therefore scholarships and loans help students in a substantial way. There is a concise list of scholarships given below.

Harvard Business School MBA

  • Harvard need-based Fellowship: HBS awards need-based fellowships to provide access to admitted students with limited financial resources and nearly 50% of the class receives a fellowship award. The average HBS Fellowship is approximately $37,000 per year, or $74,000 total. All students are encouraged to apply for an HBS Fellowship after being admitted to the program. And the total need-base fellowship budget for 2017 was $33 million.
  • The Robert S. Kaplan Life Sciences Fellowship: HBS awards $40,000 each to up to ten (10) incoming MBA students who present outstanding credentials in life sciences disciplines. The student is awarded $20,000 for the first year and $20,000 for the second year.
  • Horace W. Goldsmith Fellowship: The Horace W. Goldsmith Fellowship gives awards of approximately $10,000 to seven to ten (7–10) first-year MBA students who have exhibited leadership and an extraordinary commitment to working in the nonprofit sector.

Stanford Business School MBA

  • Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship Program: Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows, class of 2021, will receive financial support for approximately 80% of the cost of tuition and associated fees for each year of the two-year Stanford MBA Program and is awarded up to five fellows. However, upon graduation are required to return to India and work for an Indian organization for a minimum period of two years.

Wharton MBA Scholarship (UPenn)

There are various fellowships available:

  • Joseph Wharton Fellowships: Joseph Wharton Fellowships are named in honor of Joseph Wharton, the founder of the Wharton School. These fellowships are awarded to students with outstanding records of academic, personal, and professional achievements.
  • Forté Fellowships: Forte Fellowships are awarded each year to outstanding female students who demonstrate exemplary leadership academically, professionally or creatively, as well as a proven commitment to the empowerment of women in education or the workplace.
  • Social Impact Fellowships: Social Impact Fellowships are offered to students with demonstrated leadership in the public and/or not-for-profit sectors.

Columbia Business School MBA

  • Need-Based Scholarships: Award amounts range from $7,500–$30,000 for those who qualify and based on funds available (amounts can sometimes be higher in certain circumstances).  Of those who apply, about half receive a need-based scholarship and the average award is approximately $20,000.  Although the percentage of recipients is high, students should not assume they will be awarded a need-based scholarship as these awards are not guaranteed. 
  • The Board of Overseers China & India Fellowships: are awarded to incoming students who exhibit exceptional academic and professional promise. The board is composed of nearly 100 accomplished men and women - each a global leader in one of a wide range of industries, from financial services to manufacturing to technology to the arts.

Chicago Booth MBA

  • H. Tobaccowala Fellowship: This fellowship was established by Chicago Booth alumnus and innovative, top business leader in memory of his father-a 1952 Chicago Booth graduate. The fellowship is awarded to students whose primary home is in India at the time of admission.
  • Ramakrishnan Family Scholarship: Funded by an endowment established by Guru Ramakrishnan, ’88, and Anupama Ramakrishnan, this scholarship gives preference to candidates who are Indian nationals. 
  • Khosla-Booth Private Equity Fellowship: This fellowship annually supports students with demonstrated interests or backgrounds in the private equity industry. It provides students with mentorship and assistance to secure internships at private equity firms. There is a strong preference for women.

Haas School of Business (University of California, Berkeley)

Berkeley Haas Scholarships range in value and scope and will be awarded in amounts ranging from $10,000- $120,000. All admitted students will automatically be considered for a Berkeley Haas Scholarship, which will consider information already provided in the admission process and application.

  • Dr Tahir Fellowship: Provided by the generosity of Dr. Dato' Sri Tahir. This scholarship for $40,000 is awarded to international students with a preference for those who completed their undergraduate education in Asia.
  • Center for Gender, Equity & Leadership Fellowship: In this two-year fellowship for $40,000 will be best awarded to students who best demonstrate their commitment to diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplaces and their desire to support the Center for Gender Equity and Leadership at Berkeley Haas.

Yale School of Management MBA

Yale SOM admission is need-blind where 73% of students receive financial aid and average return on investment is 3.5 years.

  • Chapman Scholarship: Established by Mr. Steven Chapman (Yale SOM Class of 1985), this general merit scholarship is awarded to MBA students at Yale SOM with a preference given to students from Africa, China, India, Russia, or the Commonwealth of Independent States.
  • Loan Forgiveness Program: Since 1986, The Yale School of Management has provided support to qualified alumni working in the public or nonprofit sectors through a generous educational loan forgiveness program. More than 400 participants are part of this program and total support is provided above $8 million.

MIT Sloan School MBA

  • McKinsey Award: McKinsey & Company awards scholarships of $10,000 each to up to four first-year MBA students at the MIT Sloan School of Management. The McKinsey Award is open to all incoming MBA students at the MIT Sloan School of Management regardless of professional experience and interest. 
  • MIT Sloan Social Impact Fellowships: It provides funding to a limited number of MBA students taking on important societal challenges during their summer internship period. Students apply in April of their first year, and awards are announced in early May.

Kellogs School of Management MBA

Both merit and financial need-based scholarships are awarded at the time of admission. 

  • ArcelorMittal Scholars Program: Funded by ArcelorMittal in global leadership and management in emerging markets. These scholarships are primarily merit-based awards for incoming students working in an emerging-market country. The scholarship supports approximately half the tuition for each academic year and includes activities exclusively for ArcelorMittal scholars.
  • Donald P. Jacobs International Scholarships: The Jacobs International Scholarships, established by the Dean Emeritus of the Kellogg School, are awarded each year to outstanding international students. The recipients of the scholarships are awarded $15,000 for each academic year. 
  • Diversity Scholarships: The Kellogg School, as well as several corporations and foundations, sponsor a scholarship program to attract candidates who enhance the diversity of our student body. Among the corporate-sponsored scholarships are those offered by Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. In addition, the Toigo Foundation awards diversity fellowships at Kellogg. These awards are presented to students who demonstrate academic excellence, career advancement and leadership ability.

SC Johnson College of Business MBA (Cornell University)

Johnson has over $1.5 million in merit-based scholarship funds to award each year to new students. We provide partial scholarships to a substantial percentage of our students. Merit scholarships are awarded without regard to citizenship. If a student is selected to receive a scholarship it will be included in their admission decision notification. Almost 30 percent of Johnson students receive some scholarship assistance.

About 20-25% of admitted full-time two-year MBA students receive a merit-based scholarship. The majority of Stern MBA scholarships are full or half tuition awards. All applicants (domestic and international) are considered.

Dean’s Scholarship: The Dean’s Scholarship is one of Stern’s most prestigious scholarships and is awarded to a limited number of our most meritorious admitted students. This scholarship which covers full tuition and fees is presented in the name of Dean Rangarajan "Raghu" Sundaram and affords the opportunity to connect directly with Dean Sundaram.
